Good News in Old Traditions
Once
upon a time, Arnica used to be the most important medicine in
everyone's house. There was nothing it wasn't able to treat. It was
not only the perfect remedy for everyday scratches and
scrapes, but great for sore throats and stomach
aches as well. It was indispensable.
But
now there are very few people who know it or use it! Arnica seems to
have vanished. But, one person who still uses it is Margaret
Felder. And, it's all because of her childhood.
Margaret
Felder grew up in Poland before the Second World War. And, coming
from Warsaw, she spent all her school holidays with her granny in the
mountains. And, she loved it. And, it was there that Margaret Felder
learned all about the healing powers of plants. And, she was amazed.
And, the most important plant of all was the Arnica. And, her
grandmother, being a doctor, used Arnica on many of her patients. She
knew what she was talking about.
And
so, what has become of Arnica now? The good news is that it's still
widely available and most pharmacies sell it. Of course, it's not the
same as was made in the mountains of Poland, but it works just the
same. And, just like Margaret Felder, many people still use it to put
all sorrows right.
So,
what about you? Why not check Arnica out? No first-aid box should
be without it. There's still a great deal of truth in very old
cures, and plants have been healing for hundreds of years.
And, we are the same as we always have been!
