Oskar Magocsi's Dream
Oskar
Magocsi's dream had always been writing a book. But, there had always
been too much to do. There was never the time, everything else was
always important. But, then came
retirement.
And, on his 65th birthday Oskar Magocsi sat
down to write his first science fiction book. And, it was good. It
had a wonderful plot, the aliens were little green men,
and their planet was 10,000 light years away. And, the
ending was brilliant. Peace on earth and Joy in the
universe.
And,
Oskar Magocsi believed his book was the best. And it was. But, there
was only one very small problem, the publishers. There
was not one single publisher in Canada or America who
liked it. Oskar Magocsi's book was not good enough to be published.
He would have to do better. But, Oskar Magocsi knew that his book
would succeed. A way would be found.
And
when the way came, it came out
of the blue. It was in the small ads section of
a history magazine that Oskar Magocsi was reading. It was an advert
for gardening books. Oskar Magocsi decided to do the same, and in
the next issue of the magazine an advert appeared for his book. And,
from then on things started to happen.
And,
Oskar Magocsi couldn't believe his success. His books kept selling
and selling, and within just
a short space of time he had become not only a well known personality
in Science fiction circles, but also a regular guest on radio and TV
shows. And, things didn't stop there.
All in all, Oskar Magocsi wrote 4 incredibly successful
books which sold more than 80.000 copies. And, when he died at the
age of 83 he had just started book number 5. His life finished on a
high, he was an example for us all. Oskar Magocsi just followed
himself and did that which was always within him, and not only one,
but 4 brilliant best sellers took off!
