Sir Antony Gormley

 

Sir Antony Gormley is a British sculptor who is well known throughout the world for his famous human figures. His best known works include The Angel of the North - a giant sculpture in the North of England, Another Place - an installation where 100 figures stare out to sea on Crosby Beach near Liverpool, and Horizon Field - an installation of 100 life-size statues standing in line across the Austrian Mountains.

Sir Antony's works are very realistic and very interesting. Some people are shocked when they see them.

Sir Antony has won many prizes for his work. He was born on the 30^th of August, 1950.
