Weitra
is a beautiful Austrian town with an interesting past.
The town was founded in 1201 by the Kuenringer
Hadmar the second and became not only a centre
for textiles, but also a centre for brewing as well.
At one time, Weitra had 33 breweries!
Nowadays,
Weitra is famous for its Graffiti House, its picturesque
square, its castle, its wonderful church,
and, of course, its brewery. Weitra beer is very, very good.
Weitra
is a great place to go in the summer. There are many wonderful
walks, many excellent restaurants, an
interesting museum, and a narrow gauge railway. There
is something for everyone in Weitra.

is close to the Czech border in the north-east of
Austria.
